Get into the Holiday spirit and join the Millvale Community Library for the Steel City Shakespeare Center’s presentation of Charles Dickens’ classic story, “A Christmas Carol.”
“A Christmas Carol” follows the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, an old and greedy businessman who despises all things Christmas. On Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by three Christmas ghosts, who guide him through Christmases past, present, and future. With the ghosts’ assistance, Scrooge embarks on a journey of self-discovery, learning about how much of a difference a single man can make in the lives of others, and what the true meaning of Christmas really is.
This fun and interactive adaptation blends a classic story with a minimalist performance style. Come see a cast of four actors, led by Michael Mykita as Ebeneezer Scrooge, perform all of the characters with only a handful of props, a few stools, and the colorful language of Charles Dickens. Instead of being up on a stage, the actors travel through the audience to make for an up-close and personal experience.
The Millvale Community Library is very excited to host the Steel City Shakespeare Center for this presentation, and invite families and children of all ages to come. For those wishing to make the suggested $15 donation, please get your tickets here.
