MCL Welcomes New Intern

Friday, September 7, 2018
Sheena Carroll

Skylar Houck was recently welcomed as MCL’s new fall intern. She is studying English and Political Science – with a focus on the nonprofit sector – at Chatham University. Her undying love for books and creative writing has her excited to become a part of the library’s team.

Skylar is from New Kensington and has had many jobs throughout the years ranging from a banker to a cook. Although, her love lies with nonprofits. She has worked with Ten Thousand Villages since beginning college, and she is more often than not found there discussing fair trade or handling donations for other nonprofits in Pittsburgh.

Skylar enjoys talking about anything dealing with dragons (Game of Thrones is her favorite, and she is still patiently waiting for the next novel), writing by local authors, food, and her cat, Pumpkin. Feel free to start a conversation with her about any of this next time you stop into MCL!
