We are proud to announce some big news for the Tool Library—we’re receiving a Pittsburgh Foundation grant! It’s a vote of confidence in our growing Library of Things, and the funds will allow us to grow and improve. On our shopping list you’ll find a table saw, an additional pressure washer, a complete set of mud knives, and much more. Let us know if you have requests!
The grant will also allow us to begin offering workshops later in the year. Workshops might include installing a garden, building a birdhouse, or laying a stone patio. If you’d like to propose an idea for a workshop, or possibly lead one, reach out at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 412-853-8366.
Many donors also stepped up in response to our Letter to the Editor in the PPG, tying the Tool Library to the recent Kondo decluttering craze. Sarah Erwin donated a Finish Nailer and a Brad Nailer. Terry Doloughty donated buckets of useful hand tools. Sarah Naylor donated a mechanic’s creeper, heavy-duty pipe clamps, and more. We want to thank everyone who has donated to us in the past several months! We’re fast approaching having 500 tools and sets of tools for you to borrow! If you find yourself needing a tool, and want to possibly save a buck, check us out!
