Using the Library
We have over 7,500 items in our collection, spanning many genres, and taking many forms. Fiction, non-fiction, large print, children’s and young adult books are joined by DVDs, audio books, Blu-Ray discs, print magazines, and a print copy of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Plus, since we are part of the Allegheny County Library Association, our patrons have access to the collections of 45 other libraries within Allegheny County, as well as from Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and its many branches. Online access to magazines, periodicals, e-books, e-music, e-magazines, and much more is also available to our patrons.
An ACLA Library Card gives our patrons access to the entire 46-library system within Allegheny County, including the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh! As always, library cards are FREE, and applying for one only takes a few minutes!
You can get yours today by filling out the linked form and bringing it to the Millvale Community Library, along with current photo identification. No printer? No problem! You can also stop in and get a form during regular Library hours.
The Millvale Community Library has computers available to patrons to use for free! Our children’s department has four Google Chromeboxes available for internet browsing, checking email, and checking in on social media. We also have four eiNetwork-linked PCs available with access to Microsoft Office 365, your online access to tools such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more. Please bring your own headphones, and feel free to listen to music or catch up on your favorite podcast!
